Teagasc

TEAGASC is a national government agency providing research, advice and training to the Irish agri-food sector. Teagasc research centres are working on a range of research issues across animal production, the environment, crops, horticulture and food.

The Teagasc Food Research Centre at Ashtown, Dublin carries out a programme of research on food safety, quality and health. The Food Safety Department, focuses on microbial and chemical contaminants in the farm to fork chain.

The group has extensive expertise in control of pathogens and spoilage bacteria in the food chain including the use of novel processes such as high pressure processing
